JOB OPPORTUNITY – Chinese-Speaking CDAs / SLPAs / CHAs
Anna Victoria International Communications - AVIC, an agency specializing in business and clinical communications services, is looking for associates with Communicative Disorders Assistant, Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, or Communication Health Assistant certification.
AVIC is seeking CDAs / SLPAs /CHAs on a contracted basis to provide Speech-Language services under the mentorship of an Ontario registered Speech-Language Pathologist, to serve English and Chinese-speaking clients in Ontario.
AVIC welcomes Speech Therapists trained in Hong Kong who are eligible for CHA certification.
Clients will consist of all age groups, from children with developmental needs, to adults who are post-operative or post-trauma, and to seniors who are post-stroke. Incumbents will be self-employed and will travel to clients’ homes to provide therapy under the mentorship of and according to the treatment plan designed by a registered Speech-Language Pathologist. Incumbents will serve both the client with treatment and caregivers with education. Incumbents will be provided with ongoing training, mentorship, and guidance.
Individuals with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
• Completion of an accredited, post-graduate Communications Disorders Assistant (CDA) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) program in North America, or its Commonwealth equivalent • Field experience working with populations of different ages • Field experience working on a wide range of communicative and swallowing disorders • Fluency in oral and written English, plus high verbal proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin • Ability to produce timely and accurate clinical documentation with minimal guidance • Proof of registration/accreditation with a relevant professional body in Canada • Proof of valid Ontario driver’s licence and automobile insurance for traveling to clients • Valid professional liability insurance coverage of no less than CAD$5million for each occurrence • Clearance from Vulnerable Sector Screening report by local police • Understanding of and commitment to compliance with the following statutes: o Regulated Health Professions Act o Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Act o Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) • Ability to operate independently, and in a team, in a proper, professional and ethical manner in accordance with standards as indicated by their own professional regulatory bodies and by the standards and policies of the AVIC.
